Main Idea:
The main idea of this article was to explain what narcolepsy is, symptoms of it, as well as its misdiagnosis, and that it is a lifelong disorder. The article, specifically was about a girl named Clea Howard from New York who kept questioning why she was so tired all the time even after getting a good nights sleep. Since her freshmen year in high school she would fall asleep in class, while doing homework, etc. and she always wondered why she was so tired all the time. She went to see her pediatrician who had no clue, as well as her endocrinologist who also had no idea what was going. That was until her pediatrician recommended a sleep disorder study, and there Clea was told that she had narcolepsy, which explained all her symptoms and why she was so tired after a good nights rest. The article also included that many misdiagnoses occur every year and that this condition affects 1 in 2000 people.

Conclusion
In conclusion, narcolepsy is a disorder very commonly misdiagnosed as laziness, depression, schizophrenia or an attention disorder. Although none of these are true doctors overlook the fact that the extreme tiredness is in fact narcolepsy. It is a lifelong disorder but if diagnosed correctly, taking certain drugs prescribed from your doctor will allow you to be able to live a normal life.

  1. Danielle explained that in her article about, narcolepsy there are many ways that narcolepsy can effect someone's life like the girl in the article (Clea) was falling asleep during class, doing homework, and doing other nesscary things. It is suppring that 1 in 2000 people have this disorder and its quite sad that people often mistake it for laziness, depression, schizophrenia and AD(H)D. Though you can take drugs for it I am curious if there is any kind of hope for someday having a cure.

This girl would be tired all of the time, even after a good nights sleep. She would fall asleep in class or during many other activities. Her pediatrician and endocrinologist were stumped as to what is is. This was until her pediatrician recommended that she go to a sleep disorder clinic. It was there that she was diagnosed with Narcolepsy.

  3. This article tells the audience what narcolepsy is, which is a sleep disoder where you are always tired and fall asleep at inapropriate times. It also talks of a girl by the name of Clea Howard, in New York, who suffers from this condition and tells the journalist of her experiences of falling asleep in the middle of class or during homework. Most people with narcolepsy are just thought lazy, or depressed and most people with this condition are misdiagnosed. This condition affects 1 in 2000 people and if properly diagnosed, the affectee can be given the proper medication to live a normal life.

  4. This article explains narcolepsy before i saw this I had no idea what it was. Apparently narcolepsy is a sleep disorder that makes you extremely tired, but is confused as something else, such as laziness, depression, schizophrenia, or an attention disorder. Narcolepsy is a lot more common than i thought, it affects 1 in every 2000 people. A lot of people who have narcolepsy have probably been misdiagnosed and don't know what is really affecting them. Everyone should have more awareness to narcolepsy so more people can be treated for it.
