Dangers of Synthetic Marijuana

A recent study has shown that more emergency rooms across the U.S. are reporting an increase in patients who used synthetic marijuana. Synthetic marijuana is known as K-2, or spice. It is a blend of plant materials that have been sprayed with chemicals, which produces a similar high to marijuana. It has dangerous side effects, and doctors don't know how to treat an overdose. The chemicals in Spice are toxic, and cause side effects such as, inability to speak, restlessness, aggitation, aggression, and sweating too much. The poison control center reported 4,500 calls involving spice from 2010 to 2011. This new drug is used by some as a substitute for marijuana because it doesn't show up on drug tests, but it is proving to be a lot worse, with adverse side effects. A lot of the side effects are unknown still, and doctors dont know what it is doing to your body. Spice should be banned from being sold so people dont harm themselves anymore without knowing it.
