Main Idea:

Lundbeck, a European pharmaceutics research corporation, has been working on a drug that they say can prevent and stop binge drinking activities in young people.  Binge drinking is a major problem in Europe and the company is hoping to combat this growing trend with their new drug.  In Europe, binge drinking is the second most common risk factor to people's health.  In a blind test many users of the drug reported a drop in their alcohol consumption by up to 60%.  Currently the drug is still in its testing phase but it is expected to one day be released to the public.

Conclusion:

This drug could provide a great stepping stone for many people who have become dependent on alcohol.  It could even turn out to be a cure for alcoholism and it could save thousands of lives all around the world.  The creators or the drug, Lundbeck, hope to greatly decrease the number of alcohol related deaths that occur in Europe each year.  Hopefully their dream will be realized.

  1. Lundbeck's idea of a drug that would stop the urge to consume alcohol would be a huge step in the right direction for many. Although tests only resulted in a 60% drop, it's still an improvement, and there is still space for improvement. This drug, if successfully manufactured, would not only aid the European population, but the world's population. The issue of alcoholism is not one to joke about, many lives can be saved from this idea.

  2. A drug that could lead to the cure for alcoholism, would be a huge step for both Europeans, as well as the whole world. With the final testing of this drug, it could lead to a revolution without teenage DUIs as well as in America. The creator of this drug Lundbeck is potentially reducing the deaths of many teenagers, college students, and alcoholics all around the world.

  3. Lundbeck is a European medicinal company which created a drug that supposedly decreases binge drinking. This drug is called nalmefene. The need for this drugs stemmed from the fact that in Europe binge drinking is the second largest factor in bad health. Ludenbeck is still waiting approval from the European regulators, but is very likely to get it because of their high success rates. Ludenbeck also plans to sell this drug to alcoholics. Because alcoholism and binge drinking is such a huge problem in the world this will save the health and lives of many people.

  4. A drug that can stop people from consuming alcohol is a great idea. The only thing is that the drug is still in the experimenting stage as of now. It could solve problems with teenagers who consume lots of alcohol and can lower most alcohol related problems. If this drug were to be successfully mass produced then it will then help lots of people around the world
