On the morning of Sunday March the 4th , President Obama gave a speach to a pro-Israel policy conference in Washington. The President gave this speech in order to back up his dicisions about the conflicts with Isreal. Obama restated that he is willing to use "all elements of American power" which includes military force to prevent Iran from gaining a neuclear weapon. Though Obama states that he is willing to use military power to stop Iran from gaining this nuclear weapon, he also made it clear that he would prefer to use diplomatic solutions than create a military conflict. This Monday Obama will meet with the Israeli Prime Minister to debate the fact that the Israeli government does not feel that America has done enough to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. Obama said during his speach that, "Already there is too much loose talk of war" continuing on to say "Over the last few weeks, such talk has only benefited the Iranian
government, by driving up the price of oil, which they depend upon to
fund their nuclear program. For the sake of Israel’s security,
America’s security, and the peace and security of the world, now is not
the time for bluster; now is the time to let our increased pressure
sink in, and to sustain the broad international coalition that we have
built."
To conclude, during his speach Obama told America that if needed he would result to military power to stop Iran from building a nuclear weapon. Though he is recieving pressure from the Israeli government to stop Iran's nuclear program Obama is trying to solve the problem in a diplomatic way in order to presurve peace. Obama has stated that jumping to talk of military conflict increases tensions with Iran and is driving up oil prices. Obama thinks that the money from oil is being used to fund Iran's nuclear program and therefor a diplomatic solution is the best way to solve this conflict.
