Main Idea:
Being “burned out”
means that you feel overwhelmingly exhausted, dislike your workplace, and don’t
think your efforts are valued. According to a new study in the American Journal
of Clinical Nutrition, being burned out at work can connect with overeating and
uncontrolled eating behaviors. This experiment involved 230 working women who
felt burned out daily. They had more emotional and uncontrolled eating compared
to those without this feeling, even after a year. Women that were already
overweight failed to make changes causing damage to their self-esteem other
factors towards weight maintenance. Stress is a key factor for difficulty to
change diets and exercise patterns.
Conclusion:
Stress is a main
factor, according to this article, for obesity and staying healthy. Obesity is
a huge and growing problem in the United States, especially for the people out
of college with a job. To solve this problem, starting with you can be most
helpful. Relaxing and taking breaks can be beneficial in addition to healthy
alternatives, such as taking the stairs, parking a couple blocks away from
work, and eating fruits and vegetables.
Stress is something that hurts one physically and physiologically. Stress can effect your work habits, self esteem, diet, exercise patterns, and ultimately your weight management. Feeling overwhelmed or burned out according to a study in the Ameican Joural of Clinical Nutrition connects with over eating and uncontrolled eating behaviors. Ways to resolve this problem is by finding things you enjoy, and take time out of your busy schedule to do it.
ReplyDeleteFrom this article I've learned that stress is not just something that causes strain in our lives but is also detrimental to our health. Although stress can affect our lives, I've learned that there are ways to help decrease it such as, eating healthy, and exercising more. Since obesity is such an epidemic and stress adds on to that I think everybody should read this article to learn about ways to de-stress yourself.
